When i first got this game i was addicted to it!! It was so much fun and also challenging at times. But after time i saw myself beating every player 6-0 6-0. There is no difference in playing the woman ranked 20th then the top seed so it makes for a not much fun game! I recently got Smash Court Tennis 2 and its great and very realistic!

I think this game is fun to play against someone, we have good volleys and eventually someone will make a postioning mistake. I have not been able to follow the instructions about controlling the direction of the ball very well, but compared to some of the other PS2 sports games we have this one keeps us most interested so far.

the graphic isn’t great but works, the players look like their counterpart in real life, the sound is great(monica seles grunts!!!),the stadiums are realistic and the ,don’t forget, you can choose among 20 players(plus other 20 hidden at first). yes,the gameplay can be strange at first,it’s not as quick as in smash court but after a few hours you’ll find it very challenging!great ai intelligence and great tour mode!!!it’s not as 2k2 tennis, but who cares?it’s the best one out there for now. . . believe me!

WTA Tour Tennis is perhaps the best tennis game I’ve played in a long time. It has several entertaining features that other past tennis games severely lack, like a wide selection of players to choose from and a variety of different tournaments that can be played. Best of all is the “Tour mode”, where you compete in various tournaments and accumulate tour points to move up in the WTA rankings. This facet of the game, I felt, is what keeps it interesting, and from being just another game of Pong. Here you actually get some semblance of realism as you try to win tournaments in order to move up in the rankings. Out of all the tennis games I’ve played, this one comes closest to reconstructing the various dynamics that make up the professional tennis circuit. The graphics are adequate enough, but could be improved; however, the sound bytes of the different players are spot-on. The grunts of Monica Seles and Serena Williams, in particular, are strikingly realistic. Yet despite all that, its major downside is the slow gameplay and control ability. For a tennis game, the actual pace of play is surprisingly slow, especially when compared to other games, like Smash Court, where manipulation of the players and shots are relatively quick and smooth. Here, the controlling takes some time in getting used to before you actually start winning matches consistently, and at times it can all become incredibly frustrating to say the least. Overall, though, if you’re a fan of tennis games, then I strongly recommend this one. It’s not perfect by any means, but its comparatively better than the previous tennis games I’ve played.

To all first time users of WTA, do not get frustrated with the controls, it takes time and practice. I was about to return this game, but after a couple of hours of practice, you will get a hang of it!Overall this game is better than SCT. It has more players and surprisingly their grunts and moves are very realistic. It has indoor and outdoor court playing and also in each court it can be played during the daytime and evening. You can tell by the glare on your television. In indoor courts, the roof can be opened or closed. WTA brings realism to game play. You have to play the best of 3 sets instead playing only a couple of games to win a match in SCT. During the game, there are very interesting statistics, such as first serve percentage and unforced errors. SCT only have a few statistics available and it is only displayed at the end of the match. The game would have been perfected if “real” tennis open names were used. Instead of calling Wimbledon, WTA calls it the “Britannian Open”. Also, where’s Venus Williams? Why did Konami, put Jelena Dokic in the front cover of the game? It would have been better if they put top players in the cover such as Serena, Jennifer or Martina.
